Life is hectic, and there are times when you need to move quickly and with only a few days (or one day!) notice. Before you panic, take a deep breath and know that MoversUnion.com is going to be able to help you get through this. Check out our quick tips for making the most of a quick-turn move that will help you stay organized during your last-minute move.

Reserve Your Truck

Movers Union can help you find available trucks today, tomorrow, next week or next month! Simply visit MoversUnion.com, enter where you are moving from and where you are moving to, your moving date, any flexibility on dates – and search! Your search will return moving and trucking companies who have availability in your area – and give you a list to choose from with all the contact information you need to get started! If you don’t get any results, just enter your email address and phone number and Movers Union will work to connect you with options for your move.

Get Appliances Ready to Go

It would be bad if your moving truck showed up ready to start loading up your home or apartment and you realized that your fridge is still running and full of food! Unplugging and defrosting your refrigerator and freezer are some of the first things you should do so they will have time to get dried off to limit the chance of mildew or ruining other items that are you also moving.

Get Paperwork in Order

There are certain documents that you will need when you’re moving – receipts, moving checklist, important addresses and phone numbers, and your moving quote. Having these items stored somewhere safe and near your purse or car keys will ensure that you don’t leave home without them.

Call in the Troops

You may not want to ask friends for help, but the reality is that if you have to move without a lot of notice, you won’t have the time to do everything yourself – it takes an army. Call friends, neighbors and family members and buy lots of pizza and their favorite drinks. This is a time for all hands on deck to get everything done quickly and be prepared for the moving truck when it arrives.

Keep Kids and Pets Occupied

When you’re calling friends to help you pack and get moving boxes loaded up, try to recruit an older adult or a teenager to watch kids and pets – two groups who love to get underfoot during a move! If your children are old enough, have them set aside a special “moving bag” with their favorite toys and treats so they can keep them close to hand which can help with any anxiety that moving brings. Keep a few days worth of pet food close and any special toys – pets can be anxious, too!

Quick moves can be tough, but with a little planning and the help of friends, you will get moved as painlessly as possible. Try MoversUnion.com for your next move!
